Ask Oloris
I have received numerous requests for my thoughts and advice this week, and I shall do my best to respond to each one to the fullest extent of my abilities and knowledge. For clarity and for context for the reader, I will replicate the questions as exactly as I received them.
Question One.
Dear Oloris,
When is best time to exact terrible vengeance on person for minor fault and wrongdoing?
Yours,
Baffled in Bezgalor
The best time to strike an enemy for the greatest lasting psychological and emotional damage, as vengeance is always sweeter when you leave your foe alive to ruminate on their suffering if you can possibly do so, is when they are their least suspecting and happiness. Strike, when they are at the pinnacle of their lives, hit hard, and bring them low. These moments can manifest in ways such as new marriages, recent increases in societal, occupational, or political standings, entry into a long overdue retirement, or, perhaps, even a birthday party. Wherever they are at peace is when you should bring the storm of woe and misery.
That being said, Citizen Baffled, if the target of your vengeful wrath is a member of the Dominion, especially if it is not another Chua, I would further advise you to perhaps rethink your need for vengeance or to be as discreet as possible. I am aware of the needs of Chua culture, but I recall an event around this time last year where the decisions of a chua escalated into a very public and tense situation. I do hope you do not intend to make this an annual occurrence
Question Two.
Oloris, do you think there's a connection between soulcore color and a Mechari's personality?
Perhaps. From a personal standpoint: my soulcore is red, the essence of primal fire has colored it from the pure white color of exanite. Fitting, considering I was originally forged for the Crimson Legion. Despite what many see of me (I have been told I come off as odd, cold, or intimidating in public), I have to hide a great deal of what I would call fiery anger do to events on Nexus.
Other Mechari would certainly know more than I. I am not old, I have not seen a great deal of our universe or studied anything about our soulcores and physiology. I would recommend approaching Axis Desai, Priestess Helmina, or Professor Quasar for additional and perhaps more insightful knowledge.
Question Three:
If you lost your chassis and were only a head, which lesser species would you prefer to be captured by?
If it were impossible to self-destruct entirely and render myself unavailable for capture, I would definitely prefer the Pell. At least they are creations of the Eldan as well, and not as savage as the Osun or as primordial as the Falkrin. And most importantly, not Skeech or Exile.
Question Four:
Oloris.. im trying to decide. Do I marry someone in a big public ceremony or just elope and throw care to the wind?
The answer would depend on your personal preference, but, I will tell you what I would do in the situation. I would gather those closest to me, the few I truly trust and know would like to see my ‘happiest moment.’ I would pick a remote spot, not in the grand, majestic halls of a temple or church, but a serene, beautiful natural overlook onto a quiet and picturesque area of holy Nexus, or, perhaps a backdrop of the tranquility of the stars, nebulas, and the void. With these two criteria met, the ceremony would be small, personal, and extremely memorable, to me, and my loved ones.
This is, assuming, my life was utterly different.
Question Five:
Dear Olo, I'm going to a seminar with some friends. In what way should I dress?
Another where the best answer can only come from personal taste, and I am certainly the last person to approach for advice on this topic as I only have four sets of clothing to my name. That being said, I would advise you to dress comfortably, as seminars require long periods of being still and focused. You will desire to be as comfortable as possible in order to eliminate one possible source of distraction and being distempered.
That is all for this week’s assignment, I hope I provided what knowledge each of you needed, and some help, perhaps, to readers who did not think to come forth with similar questions.
As always, Dominus watch over you.
