Blood Drive @ Evindra

On the 20th of this month House Dalakan and Evindra Institute held a blood drive to aid the Legion’s front line medical corps. The event organized by Dr. Isabella Sinclair and Aster Dashkova was held at the Evindra Institute Medical Wing.

Donors were also offered free medical clinical services, with expenses covered from funds raised by the Dashkova Foundation, a charitable organization specializing in medical and social aid to Legionnaires and their families.

We would like to thank Evindra’s staff, under the watchful eye of Jazad, and the Dalakan Medical group and security volunteers for allowing our staff a first person view of the event.

Below is the account of the event.

Offer of Blood at Evindra Institute

By Douglas Bricius, Freelance Science Writer

As the Dominion claimed Nexus as their birthright by Emperor Myrcalus and fought against those who wish to take the planet for themselves, many of those who fight against her enemies require transfusions as they suffer from blood loss from their injuries. On the 20th day of the second month, House Dalakan hosted a blood drive at Evindra Institute that witnessed sixteen citizens—including me—who came to the hospital for blood donations. Although the Chua made up a large majority of the blood donors, Cassian and Draken also partook in volunteer donations.

On hand to process the blood donations from large numbers of donors were seven volunteers from both House Dalakan and Evindra Institute.

The volunteers at Evindra Institute checked in the eager blood donors, drew their blood into pouches, and gave rewards (sticker and money) for their donations. While I came to the Evindra Institute to cover the event, the dutiful nature of blood donors influenced me to donate my blood for the Dominion's wounded soldiers.

The person who administered my blood drawing was a Draken named Kolkra Vivek, a former Dominion Centurion and field medic for House Dalakan. It has been long since I have met her and talked as my blood filled up the bag. Kolkra complimented my bravery in accepting the blood before putting a band-aid on my pierced skin.

Like many who finished donating their blood, I was given ten gold and a sticker for my participation in the blood drive. As the day came to close with no more donors to be processed, House Dalakan Blood Drive was successful in their effort to replenish the blood supply in medical emergencies.

In my opinion, I and the staff of DNN wish that this article provides inspiration for the citizens to donate their blood when another blood drive is announced.
