Gaming in the Dominion
Distractions from everyday life are often useful to relieve stress. With our vast technology at hand, we can whisk ourselves away from our troubles, if only for moments at a time. The use of videogames is one of these distractions, and it’s easy to get lost in them. As a warm-blooded Dominion citizen, I work hard, and often times find myself knee deep in stress. One of the best ways to ward off the ho-hum of a long day’s work is to mindlessly play games for hours on end without stopping, drowning myself in energy drinks and baked cheesy snacks.
More and more, it seems, arcade machines, and even full blown arcades have been popping up all around in the Hot Spots of Nexus ™[1], and from what I’ve observed, they’ve been a pretty big hit. Not only have taverns, fighting rings, and arcades been a way for citizens to relax, they have become an outlet for gaming can be great for tactical skill building. I’m not blowing hot air when I say my 65-0 record in Road Brawlers has helped steady my hand while working a job in writing or otherwise, plus, a little competition never hurt anyone.
Whether or not you jump into play something simple like Puzzle-me-Not, hop into a chair for some Grinder Boost, or get competitive for a match of Circle of Champions, you’ll feel less stress and worry less about marauders, pirates, Exiles, and those taxes you need to pay to the governor. Remember, we wouldn’t have this technology if it wasn’t useful.
This is the part where I act like a tough guy and tell you to 1v1 me in Road Brawlers and try to end my streak, but videogames are meant to be a stress relief, I can’t have people on tilt running amok in an arcade while drunk. So ends this Kalissitorial, see you all next time.
